Common Knowledge Scholarship Fund [$250-2,500]  Criteria: Sign up to take daily quizzes.  Students with the highest scores at the end of the competition win.   Apply at: http://www.cksf.org/index.cfm?Page=Scholarships

Wells Fargo CollegeSTEPS Sweepstakes [$1,000] Criteria: Sign up to receive college planning and money management information from Wells Fargo's CollegeSTEPS Program.  Sweepstakes winners are chosen randomly.  Apply at: http://wellsfargo.com/collegesteps

Migrant Farmworker Scholarship [$150-2,500]  Application due: varies, check website for each specific award  Criteria: Recent history of movement for agricultural employment, scholastic achievement and financial need.  There may be additional requirements for some of the scholarships  AB540 student may apply. Apply at: http://www.migrant.net/migrant/scholarships.htm 

 

Walmart Associate Scholarship [varies]  Application due: varies, check website for each specific award  Criteria: Must be a US citizen or Legal Resident.  Must be employed part-time or full-time with any division of Walmart for at least six consecutive months prior to the appropriate application due date.  Must have financial need and be able to demonstrate the need with required documents. Apply at: https://www.act.org/walmart/associate/

 

AMDA College and Conservatory of the Performing Arts Scholarships [$1,000 and up] Scholarships are awarded based on talent, merit, academic excellence and financial need.  Must attend AMDA.  Visit www.amda.edu for more information. 

College Testing Updates

SAT and ACT

The SAT and ACT tests are college entrance exams accepted and valued by universities and colleges in the United States. Juniors should take either exam in the Spring.  

 

Which Test to Take?

Perhaps most importantly, take a practice ACT and SAT and see which one you prefer. Both offer a unique testing style, and many students prefer one over the other.

Go to high school and college at the same time!

Students may apply to Cabrillo College for enrichment and for elective classes.

  • Obtain a High School Release Form from the Diamond Tech office, with the principal's signature.
  • Link to Cabrillo College.
  • Browse the catalog and find classes of interest.
  • Apply for enrollment from the Cabrillo College home page. You will be informed later when you can actually enroll.
  • Note: Remember that High School Release forms are in the Diamond Tech office. All high school students under 18 will need this form in order to sign up for classes.
